The P-Springy part numbers are as follows:
As an example, when describing an "M" Series spring for a small block Sprintcar application, the following nomenclature would apply:
Part Number M155L750C311A
Where "MXXX" is a "M" Series replacing a 1.550" O.D. coil spring
"LXXX" Lift capability of .750" maximum
"CXXX" is the Compression ratio at seen maximum lift or 3.11:1
Compression ratio determines the valve closed 'seat' pressure in relation to spring force at maximum lift. With this particular unit , having 200 lbs. on the seat would then result in achieving 200 x 3.11 or 622 lbs. on the 'nose' of the camshaft lobe. The suffix "A" determines the internal diameter of the unit, which in this case is 0.562" or 9/16". An I.D. of 9/16" is typically the O.D. of the usual valve stem guide measured at the spring pocket location on the cylinder head surface.
